Snoring

Snoring is one of the sleep disorders that are often considered trivial problem. Snoring is the sound of  breathing that becomes hard when someone is sleeping because there was partial airway obstruction at the top.

This occurs due to vibration of the soft palate and other soft tissues at the respiratory tract.  An estimated 20 percent of 30-35 year-old man snore during sleep and at the age of 60 years, this figure reaches more than 50 percent. According to David Fairbanks, MD, professor of Otolaryngology at George Washington University School of Medicine, enlarged tonsils and throat membrane from sagging and widening can also be the cause of the coming of sound that disturb the peace of others are sleeping.

OSA or Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a breathing obstruction occurs during sleep.
• When the sleep muscle tone decreases, the airway tissue vibrations occur which cause the sound of snoring.  Specifically in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, this tonus network without clogging the airways and causes breathing stopped.
• Depending on the location of obstruction, it may arise out of snoring sound in the nasal cavity, the cavity behind the soft palate, the cavity behind the tongue.
• When the cavity / channel blocked, the patient cannot breathe. Brain  immediately sends a signal to immediately wake up to breathe. The patient will wake up to breath and soon fell asleep again often without realizing that
he was awake for a moment. Sometimes patients can feel as if choking, wake up with pounding, sweats or nightmares as if someone strangled or drowned.
Incident respiratory obstruction during sleep can occur repeatedly, may be more than 30 times per hour and can take several seconds to almost a  minute. This causes the body lacks oxygen repeatedly and subsequently
adversely affect health, cause hypertension, heart disease, stroke and even sudden death.
Another complaint is not fresh up in the morning, still feeling tired, morning headaches, feeling sleepy during the day so that for drivers or factory workers easily accidents. Complaint form heavier concentration problems,
emotional disorders, sexual disorders and more.
